Playtime

Playgroup for 3-4 year olds

The goal of Playtime is twofold. First and foremost, parents are included in each session and taught ways to play with their child to facilitate social development. Second, children are encouraged to interact with each other in ways that stretch their current ability levels.

Curriculum

During Playtime, your child will learn how to:

• share
• take turns
• use words to express frustration
• tolerate other children
• engage with other children

Parents will learn how to:

• teach your child appropriate social behavior in the moment
• set appropriate limits with your young child in a social situation
• play with your child in ways that promote social development
• encourage appropriate social behavior with other children

To further improve parenting skills, parent education is highly recommended, either individually or through the Parent Education Group (PEG).

Requirements

• Child age: 3-4 years old.
• A parent attends all sessions with their child.
• Intake is required.

Schedule

Enrollment is open but limited due to small group size. Children may join at any time after the intake is completed. Please contact Dr. Rich for the most up-to-date schedule.
