PEG and Individual Parenting SessionsParent Education GroupFor parents of children 2-12 years oldIn the PEG group or in individual parenting sessions, parents are able to learn various skills for dealing with noncompliance, behavioral difficulties, and self-control issues in their children ages 2-12. The PEG Program differs from traditional parenting groups by keeping the group size small, allowing for discussion of individual issues within the group format and also by teaching parents how to generalize skills beyond the specific examples given in the class. Parents will also learn the function of their child's behavior in order to choose the appropriate strategy for shaping that behavior in a more appropriate direction. Certain parenting techniques are better in one situation versus another and parents are given the opportunity to learn how to make these determinations so that the skills learned in PEG will make a lasting impact. SchedulePEG is a 10-session program and is open to enrollment at any time. Contact Dr. Rich for the current schedule. Individual ParentingIndividual sessions may be more appropriate for your needs. In individual parenting, the curriculum content can be tailored to suit the unique needs of your family situation, often resulting in fewer sessions.
